Find out what Jill and Theresa have been up to!
11/23/2018 Until the End of the Year!Hi there everyone! We've been enjoying the beautiful fall weather and getting ready for a few winter dog shows! We will be attending conformation shows at the Big E in West Springfield, Mass. from November 24-25 as well as shows at the same site from December 6-9th! We will be at these shows with a combination of friend's dogs, Nina, and Crusoe! We will be competing in comformation, 4-6 month puppy show, obedience, and rally-obedience! We are more than happy to meet people, introduce them to the dogs, and show them around the dog show! Contact us if you're interested in meeting up! Here are some photos of Nina showing off her new Hurtta vest! Crusoe is also growing up nicely and we're excited to see him start off in the show ring as a 4-6 month puppy! We look forward to meeting people in the upcoming weeks and we hope that everyone has a very happy holiday!
~Jill and Theresa 10/30/2018 KingIt is with great sorrow that we annouce the passing of: ~ King ~ UKC BIMBS URO1 Ch AKC BIS MBISOH MRBISOH GCHG Fishercreeks Gold, Frankincense & Myrrh RN BN CD CGCA WC THD. King crossed the rainbow bridge on September 25th. We are beyond heartbroken with the loss of this amazing dog. “To call him a dog hardly seems to do him justice,
though inasmuch as he had four legs, a tail, and barked, I admit he was, to all outward appearances. But to those who knew him well, he was a perfect gentleman.” – Hermione Gingold" 9/1/2018 Pupdate 9.1.2018The puppies will turn 1 month old on Monday! It has been an amazingly busy and rewarding month. I am almost unable to process the growth that we have seen in these puppies in the last month.
8/8/2018 Pupdate. 8.8.2018We have puppies! In the early morning hours of August 6, Nina welcomed 11 beautiful babies into the world! We have 4 girls and 7 boys. As of right now, we anticipate that we have a few boys who will be looking for their furever home. If you are interested, please contact us. Please keep in mind that we are very busy caring for these little ones -- so our responses may be delayed, but we will get back to you!
7/31/2018 Pupdate 7.31.2018Yesterday we had Nina at the vet for a pregnancy checkup and an x-ray. We were surprised to see that she has at least 12 little ones waiting to make their way into the world! Based on this number, we are anticipating that we will have a few more puppies available. If you are interested, please contact us for more info!
7/25/2018 Pup-date 7.25.2018We are very excited! Nina has been slowly growing puppies for the last month and a half. She started showing early and we are now getting close to her due date! Stay posted for more pup-dates!
Obedience, Rally, and AgilityMonday, King and Nina competed in two Rally Trials and an agility trial. While we all had a great time running agility, neither of the pups qualified. Versatility AwardIn line with the Hairy Potter theme, this year's versatility award was called the "Tri-Wizard Award." Both Nina and King proved themselves to be Tri-Wizard Champions and earned this award by qualifying in at least three different venues! All in all, we couldn't be happier (or more exhausted) after this year's National. It was fantastic to see old friends and make many new ones. It was amazing to see so many incredible dogs and, especially, to see that there are so many dogs living to an amazing ripe old age.
We can't wait to see what else this summer brings! We are currently taking deposits for a litter we are expecting this summer. Please contact us for more information! 1/4/2018 Review of 20172017 was an amazing year for us and the Flat-Coats! A wide range of accomplishments both in and out of the ring and, as always, we got to see some old friends and make many new ones! KingKing had an incredible year. In addition to his 3 Owner-Handler Best in Shows and 3 Reserve Best Owner-Handler in Shows this year, he also took numerous group placements. While King took an almost 4-month break from showing in the middle of the year, in 2017 King:
We can't wait to see what 2018 brings for our boy! NinaNina has had an incredible year for such a young girl! In 2017, Nina:
2017 was a fantastic year and we can't wait to see what 2018 brings!8/23/2017 Summer Update!Fun in the Field! It is important to Jill and Theresa that Flat-Coated Retrievers are celebrated as versatile working dogs. So, they have taken a brief break from the conformation ring to spend time working King and Nina in the field, along with work with obedience, rally, and agility! (Don't worry, they'll be back in the show ring in a short while!) Below is a gallery of our two enjoying the field and the work they were bred to do! A two-week trip to the Flat Coated Retriever Society of America's National Specialty in Clymer, NY proved to be very rewarding. After our trip to New York, we crossed the border to Canada to compete at the Flat Coated Retriever Society of Canada's National Specialty in Kitchener, Ontario.
Prior to the FCRSA National, King was awarded 5 back-to-back group placements. At the American National, he was award the Second Judges Award of Merit and Best of Breed Owner-Handled! He followed up this great win across the border taking 4th in Open as a class dog. The following weekend, he takes Back-to-Back BOB, an Owner-Handled Group 2, and a Group 3 at the New England Sporting Group Association shows! It's been a great spring so far! We can't wait to see what else it brings! 12/11/2016 Merry Christmas from Us to You!We have completed our show season. We will see you in 2017!
